Why is it important to choose a reputable aesthetic clinic?

Choosing an aesthetic clinic

Here are some things to look out for when choosing an aesthetic clinic to have an anti-ageing or skincare treatment. It’s important that you consider a number of things before committing to one or a course of treatments. You need to do your research first and we advise you to attend a consultation prior to deciding if the clinic is suitable to carry out your treatment.

Consultations are Needed

We offer consultations from our aesthetic clinic in Thorpe End, Norwich. All consultations are carried out by Joolia Gilvey, our Aesthetic Nurse with over 10 years experience in nursing. It’s important that your consultation is carried out by the individual performing your treatment. They will be able to assess you to ensure you’re suitable for treatment as well as provide answers to any questions you may have. During your consultation, you will be able to judge whether the doctor or nurse and clinic is genuine and has your best interests at heart when advising you on which aesthetic treatment to go ahead with. – Ask them about the risks, results, price, post treatment advice and also pre-treatment information.

Look for social proof

When choosing an aesthetic clinic, do you research and read what past patients have said about the clinic. Often reputable clinics have testimonials on their website along with genuine reviews on their Facebook page. You can view our Facebook reviews here. Another good indication of whether the clinic is reputable is if they are active on social media and actually have a website.

Cheap isn’t always best

Deals and cheap prices aren’t always the best. Be sure to avoid any clinics with unrealistic offers on their treatments. Often these clinics try to upsell treatments that you don’t necessarily need and it’s that old chestnut of ‘you get what you pay for’!

Save Face Registered

Our clinic based in Norwich also advises you to look out for the Save Face accreditation. We promote providing safe aesthetic treatments and are Save Face accredited 2015 through to 2019. Save Face connects patients with qualified & trained registered healthcare professionals and we have been approved. Their register is accredited by Professional Standards Authority and is recognised by the Government, The Department of Health, NHS England and The Care Quality Commission. Award winning clinic

When choosing the right aesthetic clinic for you, it is a good idea to check out if the clinic, or practitioner has won or qualified for any awards. Winning awards is a great achievement and we are proud to say that Joolia Gilvey is a Flawless Microneedling Star Award Winner 2018.

Look out for well-known brands

A good indication of whether a clinic is committed to providing you with excellent care and top quality results is the products they use when treating you. Look out for the top well-known brands supported by strong clinical evidence like Juvederm by Allergan, Ellanse by Sinclair, Belotero & Bocouture by Merz and Botox®. We offer all of these when treating our patients. It’s also important that the clinic is registered at a fixed address and is easy to get ahold of, should you need any further pre-care, aftercare or immediate advice.

Choosing an aesthetic clinic doesn’t have to be difficult. But choose wisely and do your research!
