The Clarius L20 facial ultrasound allows visualisation of the area of blockage of blood flow and allows precise placement of a needle or cannula to inject the reversing agent medication at the precise sites of the arterial or venous occlusion, and confirmation of reversal of blood flow in the concerned area via colour doppler.
The importance of the above is critical, as if left untreated, a vascular occlusion can lead to tissue death (known as necrosis of the skin) and, in severe cases, irreversible blindness.
